About the experience
Croydon Lane Wine & Tapas Bar, is a laid-back hangout one minute walk from Cronulla Beach. The interior is dark and moody, and there is also outdoor seating in the courtyard. The seating arrangements and the shared tapas plates encourage intimate dining, and there are larger, individual meals available, along with killer cocktails and a carefully chosen wine list offering boutique Australian and international wines. Cronulla is a beach suburb 40 minutes south of the CBD in the Sutherland Shire.
This very popular restaurant is on the corner of Cronulla Plaza, and whilst it may look like a bunker from the outside, we all know that looks can be deceiving. The inside is retro-chic and softly lit, with a golden glow emanating from the bar and modern pendant lights overhead. A neat strip of wooden tables paired with bentwood chairs lines the side wall, with brightly coloured throw cushions adding vibrancy to the decor.
The earthy-hued pin-striped bar is a great place to peruse the wine selection or opt for a seat in the intimate courtyard replete with a hanging herb garden. Long-time locals Johnny Rechichi and wife Cindy are at the tiller and have done well to create a sweet, atmospheric venue that is attracting a flock of well-dressed locals.
