The Mess Hall is a hole-in-the-wall cafe at the top of Bourke Street and it's serving Italian-style food for lunch and dinner. Even though the dining room is tiny, the space is pared back and elegant with white walls, streamlined timber furniture and a high pressed-tin ceiling. The menu isn't extensive but it's adequate and delicious, with a range of pizza, pasta, salad and meaty mains.
