Frank Shek was born in Dundee, Scotland to parents originating from Hong Kong. His family’s heritage stems from a small fishing island off the Kowloon Peninsula of Hong Kong. His passion for cooking was heavily influenced by his family and their desire to maintain true to their Chinese heritage in the midst of Scottish culture. This lead to a progressive path into the world of Asian cooking and allowed Frank to return to Hong Kong to further develop is culinary skills. He arrived in Australia at the age of 24 to pursue a career in fine food and has been the head chef at China Doll restaurant since 2005.

Max capacity: 180 pax
- Group bookings of 10+ guests in the main dining room are required to go onto a banquet. All dietary requirements can be accommodated with advance notice. 10% service charge applies. China Doll does not offer BYO or beverage packages.
- Private Dining - China Doll offers two large private dining spaces: The Vase Room on the ground floor, and The Mezzanine which offers L-shaped seating. Both spaces seat up to 40 guests and 50 guests standing for a cocktail-style function.
- Exclusive hire capacity: 180 seated, 220 standing. Minimum spend applies based on the day, time and month of your function.
- Semi exclusive capacity: 100 seated, 140 standing.
- The terrace area can also be used for pre-dinner drinks and canapés. Minimum spend applies based on the day, time and month of your function. 10% service charge applies.
